»History
Mater Dei was founded on the 12th of July 1909 and
established in 1914 by the late Principal Anacleto F.X.Lobo, one of the
pioneers of English education in Goa. It was recognized by the Bombay
University in 1918; Approved by the Poona S.S.C. Board in 1949; And
later recognized by the G B.S.H.S.E. Goa.
On 3rd Dec. 1926,the school received its Charter officially, the
first of its kind in Goa from Lisbon Scout Association on a
recommendation of Lisbon and London Headquarters. The Mater Dei Scout
troop and Guide company are the oldest in Goa.In 1992, it introduced the I.C.S.E. curriculum to meet the challenges of the times demanding a more international and liberal perspective.
It is now affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (I.C.S.E.) New-Delhi, India.
